You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

Think about that one time. That one time your baby fell asleep in your arms. (This blog post is being written with my daughter fast asleep in my arms, as I grasp the memory of this moment). That one time she may have spit up all over your clothes, but you didn’t have time to…
This will be the last “installment” of my Saving Money Series! (at this point) I hope this series has enlightened you and has encouraged you to think about the ways you spend your money. Maybe you have made some changes, maybe you have not. Whatever your case may be, my hope is that we are…
I have been wanted to reupholster chairs, but sometimes time was the hardest thing to find. When we first bought our table from an acquaintance of our realtor, the fabric was rather hideous. So we reupholstered them right away. After 5 years of use, with a LOT spills on them, I decided it was time…
Although I have just posted about how I rarely forget anything, and how I maximize my days, all with simple sticky notes, one thing that I value deeply is that my to-do lists and what I accomplish, do not make me who I am. What makes me who I am, is who Christ says I…
When people ask me what I do, I often tell them what I do for my “day job” and what occupies my time at night. Rarely do I say that I have a “business” blogging. Why? I think I am still unsure how to explain what I do. When I tell people that I have…
I had all these grand ideas of how I was going to be the perfect stay-at-home-mom. As much as didn’t/don’t want to admit it, we go into parenthood with expectations. I made the mistake of telling Dan that I didn’t really have any expectations, but the more I thought about it, I so did! I…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
