You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

One of the things that we go through most in our house is paper. Not even construction paper, but that plain ole white computer paper. Thankfully it’s cheap and can be recycled because boy we sure go through a lot of it! The other day, as I was scanning our living room floor, I realized…
Have you ever thanked God for THIS year? I mean, truly. Are you thankful for all that God has done in 2020? I know you’re probably thinking, how in the world can we be thankful for the coronavirus? How can we be thankful for the division that is happening in our country? How in the…
Amidst all the craziness, I have managed to crochet this baby afghan! My friend Tracie and I decided to crochet them (she crocheted a pink one) for our two friends who are having babies (actually, one of them had their baby 7 weeks early, but is doing well!). If you crochet, here is the pattern. I had…
Do you have the desire to have all of your family favorite recipes in one cookbook? Do you find yourself calling your mom often for a recipe? Do you wish to pass on recipes from your childhood to your kiddos one day? About 10 years ago, I wanted to make a family cookbook. I had…
It is incredibly easy to feel worn out, isn’t it? Wear this… Eat that… Look like this… Make that… Parenting like this… Go to that… It’s endless! And it’s going to be endless until we realize in trying to keep up, we will never arrive. I have tried keeping up during various stages of my…
Cardboard boxes can get in the way. Cardboard boxes can clutter. Cardboard boxes are clumsy and take up a lot of space. Have you ever thought of other ways you can use your boxes for other than storing and packing items? In our basement, we have a large stack of boxes. We decided that after…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
