You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

This year in Roots (high school youth group) we are looking at the various forms of media and how they line up with a Biblical worldview. What is a worldview you might ask? A worldview can be defined as how you see the world, through a “certain” lense. That “certain” lense, for the Christian, would…
I was having one of those heart-to-heart conversations with some friends recently. A conversation that really had my wheels turning. A conversation that caused conviction. A conversation that required change. Culture is something Dan and I have many candid conversations about. Our couch is loaded with discussions on how we can continue to live for…
I have struggled with my closet. It’s not that it isn’t big enough. It’s not that I don’t have enough clothes. It’s not that I don’t like my clothes. The problem is that I have too many, I have plenty that I like, and my closet has clothes in it that I don’t need. I…
This post does contain affiliate links, but all of these opinions are completely my own. About a year ago, I decided to stop scrapbooking. If you would’ve known what an avid scrapbooker I was, that may have come as a shock. I have a shelf just full of scrapbooks, with probably close to 15. I…
This post is going to be in combination with tomorrow’s blog about accomplishing goals. One of my goals is to continue to learn how to live simply. Coupled with this is reading more as well (one of my goals this year). I recently read the book “Less Is More” by Cecile Andrews and Wanda Urbanska….
Aldi has changed my life. Really. When we moved to Minnesota 2 years ago, I knew our grocery bill would look different. I did not realize that it would more than DOUBLE. Believe it or not, we do not budget. Well, we don’t budget in the sense of keeping a detailed record of what and…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
