You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17 Does it really matter? Does it really make a difference? Am I making a difference? Those were some questions that I found myself asking after I became a mom. I didn’t ask…
photo source Have you ever heard someone say “buy less, want less”? When I first heard that saying, I wasn’t so sure I believed it. In fact, it seems to contradict itself. If you are wanting something, it seems that the only way to satisfy the desire to want less, is to buy it, so…
Warm summer days. Long days on the beach, cookouts on the back porch, late nights socializing with friends, the quiet of the night looking at the stars, and the next day, repeating the process all over again. This type of day may be a reality or a far-fetched dream. No matter what the case may…
Wedding shower gifts are sometimes hard to be creative with. Yes, there is the typical “by off the registry” gift, but what if you wanted to do something a little more creative? When I was a bride-to-be, my sister had given me a bucket full of cleaning supplies. I still use it to this day!…
Tip #17 – Ensure EVERYTHING in your home is USED and perceived as BEAUTIFUL. It is easy to let clutter invade our lives – things that really have no use. Things that annoy and overwhelm us, rather than appreciate them. Make every item in your home have a purpose! Kristin’s Action Plan: As I walk…
I recently talked about my fool-proof way to never forget to buy, do, or go to something – and it’s all in a sticky note. Well what else do I use a sticky note for? Not only for daily reminders, but to maximize my days. I am a do-er. If I can cross something off…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
