You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

Mazy’s got it down. Anytime I give her something to color with, she immediately starts drawing in a circle. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to her circles, but then she glances up at me as if to say, “duh mom, it’s a puppy.” I should have known. It was staring me in…
What do you do with all of your buttons? You buy a new shirt and there is often a little baggy or button sewn into the bottom of the front of the shirt. Do you just throw away the button? Do you toss it into your sewing basket? Or does it just end up on…
I am a country girl at heart. Walking through antique shops, rustic homes, and mercantile shops, is something I can never get enough of. My mind just runs wild perusing through these type of stores. I have dreams of living in an old farmhouse someday, but I am thinking that in reality, it will probably…
This is a sponsored post brought to you by Wayfair. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience. When I think about our home, one of the places I step into frequently is our bathroom. We only have one full bath in our home and so it is used frequently. It is one…
Parchment paper. I have to admit, before I got married, I had never even heard of this stuff. It sounded fancy and I didn’t know how to use anything fancy when we first were married. Let me stick with the basics because that was surely all I knew how to handle. I thought parchment paper…
photo source Do you ever feel bombarded? Ever feel like you are being pulled in all different directions? Let me say ONE word: TRENDS. That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
