You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

I take numerous pictures a week. Many of them are never printed individually, but are digitally put into my scrapbook each year that I create through Blurb.com. Though, there are those select few that I do want to print and display in our home. Not to mention, as a blogger, I tend to modify a photo…
Does anyone remember GAK? That ooey gooey slime that made a rather disturbing sound when pushed forcefully into a container? I remember making it with my classmates in 3rd grade and who knew slime would still be a hit? I figured if I could make it in 3rd grade, I could still attempt to make…
What’s behind the curtain of your life? What is behind the makeup, the wardrobe, the house decor, this kids, and the marriage? One thing I always question: “Do my blog posts reflect the true Kristin? Our true life? Our real life?” The other day, I just had one of those days. A day when we…
I (heart) organizing. Is my house a picture of organization? Um, no. But one thing that I do value is ridding my life of clutter. I used to have this organizing blog called “Organizing Life With Less.” It was great! Talk about helping me pare down to what I would call the more “minimal” way…
When’s the last time you allowed your mind to see the world from a child’s perspective? To look at life the way they do? To respond in the way they do? We have a 4-year-old in our home and I must admit, living life through her eyes, has been absolutely beautiful. Let’s start with putting…
It was just like any other drive home from town. We ran our normal errands, like we do every week. Can I just say, thank you Aldi for not lining the checkout lane with countless things for kids to grab? Another reason why you have my business! With a quick stop at Wal-Mart, we were…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
