You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

The other day, I read in my devotional how we often try to stay busy, as our culture screams at us to do so. For indeed, it’s our culture that tries to make us believe that a busy life is a successful life. When we spend umpteen hours at our job, surely that makes us…
Tip #16 – What is standing between YOU and the life you WANT to be LIVING? What clutter do you need to get rid of, so that you can live the life you desire to live? What things are you holding onto, that are holding you back? Be purposeful in everything in you own! Kristin’s…
Paging through magazines, looking through the latest sales ad, listening to your friends talk about the latest and greatest “thing” they just bought. Ever look in that magazine or scroll through that blog and wish your home looked like it was straight out of House Beautiful or Country Living? I have my days. But more…
I (heart) organizing. Is my house a picture of organization? Um, no. But one thing that I do value is ridding my life of clutter. I used to have this organizing blog called “Organizing Life With Less.” It was great! Talk about helping me pare down to what I would call the more “minimal” way…
Think about the best experience of your life. Maybe it was a promotion you had. Maybe it was a trip you went on with your spouse or family. Maybe it was the quiet you had in the middle of the woods. Maybe it was even an insanely good deal you found. There is something to…
Tip #23 – Define what the “good life” is for you, that does NOT include a life of goods. It is easy to get caught up in the consumerism lifestyle of America. We think that acquiring and accumulating will make us happy. Yet our desire for simplifying is exact opposite of this mentality – that…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
