You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling
I (heart) Christmas. You can say “ugh,” but I am one of those who plays Christmas music in October (I’ve been known to throw in a cd in July). Many may get frustrated with me because it may come across as me not respecting Thanksgiving or me even disliking that holiday, by overlooking it. I…
We all dream of having Better Homes and Garden Home. Or maybe a Martha Stewart-looking house. Or maybe even a House Beautiful home. Whatever dream we may have as we peruse through magazines, we can easily lose sight of what we truly want our homes to be. Maybe we want our homes to be a…
Tip #22 – Set Boundaries With Your Schedule Are you afraid to say “no”? Does saying no build guilt in you, reminding you that you can’t do everything? Let me tell you, IT IS OKAY. Putting boundaries in your schedule, saying no to certain things, blocking off time for yourself, may be some of the wisest choices…
Eat this, not that. Are you getting overwhelmed by all of the ads, social media, magazines, books, and websites that are telling you what you should and shouldn’t eat? I am! I feel like no matter what I eat, it just isn’t “good enough.” I should always being eating more of this, but less of…
I am always intrigued by what other people’s days look like. Why, I am not sure. I don’t feel the urge to be like them or have my days like their’s, but maybe it’s because there is a lot to learn about someone by how they live their everyday life. I guess that is why…
Do you use ribbon as one of your embellishments or add-ons? If so, you may have a ribbon clutter problem! I know I did for all too long. Often my ribbon spools would fall to the bottom of my bin and I would completely forget about what I even had. What is the point of…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
