Exploring Minnesota – New Ulm
So what else have we been up to? Good question. Well, for those of you who don’t know me very well, I am one who LOVES to do crafts, make something myself, or just try something new. Our spare bedroom is filled with craft ideas, projects in the making, all my scrapbooking and card-making supplies,…
(Boy, were we young, yikes!) I will never forget a walk I took with my older sister before I was about to get married. I had asked her for some marriage advice. Typically when you think of marriage advice, you think of the typical couples that pray together, stay together advice. I am NOT saying…
Today you can also find me blogging at Embracing A Simpler Life! Check it out! From every corner of life, our culture is screaming at us what is in, what is popular, what is trendy, and what is acceptable when it comes to clothing. Pick up the latest style magazine and you will get just…
Does the paper trail ever end? Even though I have to say we have a pretty good grasp on paper clutter, I still have to admit we keep WAY more than we need to. In preparing for our baby girl in March (maybe you could call it nesting), I decided to try and rid our…
On July 11, 2016, Dan took a group (along with two leaders) down to Children Of The Promise, in Haiti. It was a trip years in the making, but a trip well worth the planning and investment. They left bright and early that Monday morning at 1:00am from Prinsburg. After many hours of travel, they…
Why is it that some can’t wait for the day, yet some dread it? Valentine’s Day has many different impressions and reactions. One of the biggest being the money spent. It is on this day that chocolates and roses fly off the shelves, while people wait hours to actually sit and eat a meal. Some restaurants…

Kristin!! I would totally go to New Ulm this summer with you! I love looking at the historical sites around the area! 🙂 You should head to Montevideo sometime and check out the Pioneer village! But go this summer, when you can walk around! Then the boys and I can go too! They are awesome sites! <3
Wow we just have so much in common! Dan and I both enjoy historical sites. We will definitely have to go both places this summer!
You had fun cleaning? The only time that happens to me is if I have company to talk to and keep the kids out from under my feet! April is right though, Pioneer Village is SO much fun! There are some really cool historical spots down in the Minnesota River valley about 30-45 minutes south of us too … old farmsteads, sites of Indian attacks, and 2 miles west of Pburg is a farm that actually is listed as a historical site because Indians once camped there on their way to the massacres in the river valley.
Ang – that is good to know about the Minnesota River valley too! I never even heard of it :). That is why asking people where to go (people who live here) is so much easier instead of meandering around towns, aimlessly. I LOVE old farmsteads and what not! Thanks for the info and if you have anymore, let me know!
