Painting, painting, painting! That’s what our week has consisted of, but we wouldn’t want it any other way! We are pleased with how far we have gotten, especially since our goal was to have our house painted by this summer, which we consider to be around June 1. We are not finished, but are quite…

Today’s Jesus Calling could not be more perfect. This sounds cliche, but it holds true for so many, and for so many who have never voiced it. Voiced their losses. Voiced their pain. Voiced their struggles: THANK ME FOR YOUR PROBLEMS. As soon as your mind gets snagged on a difficulty, bring it to Me…

This past week has been incredibly fun. My mom and dad, older sister, and her 4 girls came to visit for the weekend! It had been since Christmas since we had seen them, so it was wonderful to catch up, spend some quality time together, and just enjoy each other’s company. Needless to say, Mazy…

This past week had gone a bit different than planned, but that’s okay. Isn’t that just life sometimes, right? At the beginning of the week, we were able to finish painting the garage, stain the deck, and Dan finished up the brick walkway around the sandbox. And Dan also inserted the posts in for a…

This past week was CEA break for the local Christian schools in our area and that meant we headed to the Conference Grounds for their Fall Harvest Festival! We’ve had some warmer years, with some even colder and rainier, but this one was in between. It was pretty chilly, and rather rainy at the beginning,…

  1. adoption is a difficult subject to approach; for some its amazing and they want that 100% for others they have to take their time getting used to the idea. We actually considered adoption vs having our own due to my genetic disorder (i.e. kids may inherit it). However, for us, personally, its difficult to give up the idea of having our own biological children. Its difficult to get over the idea that sits in the back of your mind, "will they be ours?" "what if they look 100% different from us" "what if they act 100% different from us." I agree that adoption is a great/good thing, however, if anyone is considering it they have to be convinced in themselves that its the path God would have for them. We have never tried for children ourselves and just aren't 100% sure which path would be better. I pray that God would guide you two in your decisions surrounding this area of life. (Side note: I do not think there is anything morally wrong about having a gestational carrier. Even in biblical times they did this only they didn’t have all the fancy technology or methods we use and have today).

  2. Thank you for sharing your thoughts Jenny! So well put! I think you pose the questions that so many wonder about when adopting. It is a very difficult decision and like you said, they need to be convinced by God, that it is right. What a blessing it is have Him as our guide in life, isn't it? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and heart!
