We love summer and so does our daughter! Before Mazy started to not feel so great, here is what our week looked like: After getting home from vacation last weekend, I knew I had to get out and get some strawberries! Strawberries are one of Mazy’s favorite fruits, so I wanted to make sure to…

Hello SUMMER! It came in with a heatwave here in Michigan…how about where you live? Dan and I had the blessing of painting the exterior of someone’s home this week (an unofficial side job), which made us quite busy, but was definitely worth it. We were glad we finished when we did before the humidity…

  • Limitless

Limitless. Can you think of a person in your life who lives as if they have no limits? Where nothing can stop them? Do you ever think about God and how He is limitless? Then why do we treat Him as if He is? How many times have I, Kristin, doubted God. How many times have I questioned…

  • Just A Few More Weeks!

Can the anticipation get any greater?? Our baby girl has officially dropped, which means we are just THAT much closer to meeting her! On Tuesday, I did not feel very good and even thought for 2 seconds that maybe “it was time.” I was sore and had a contraction or 2, but by the time…

So what brought us to this point? This part of the story, I am so excited to tell! As many of you know, last fall was rough. I had gone through a few tests and each one was pointing closer and closer to the fact that we could not have our own children. We realized…

  1. adoption is a difficult subject to approach; for some its amazing and they want that 100% for others they have to take their time getting used to the idea. We actually considered adoption vs having our own due to my genetic disorder (i.e. kids may inherit it). However, for us, personally, its difficult to give up the idea of having our own biological children. Its difficult to get over the idea that sits in the back of your mind, "will they be ours?" "what if they look 100% different from us" "what if they act 100% different from us." I agree that adoption is a great/good thing, however, if anyone is considering it they have to be convinced in themselves that its the path God would have for them. We have never tried for children ourselves and just aren't 100% sure which path would be better. I pray that God would guide you two in your decisions surrounding this area of life. (Side note: I do not think there is anything morally wrong about having a gestational carrier. Even in biblical times they did this only they didn’t have all the fancy technology or methods we use and have today).

  2. Thank you for sharing your thoughts Jenny! So well put! I think you pose the questions that so many wonder about when adopting. It is a very difficult decision and like you said, they need to be convinced by God, that it is right. What a blessing it is have Him as our guide in life, isn't it? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and heart!
