The Problem of Following Technology Fads

How many electronic gadgets do you have?

Everyday (except Sundays), mail stares you in the face. Do you look forward to getting the mail? Or do you dread it because you still haven’t dealt with yesterday’s? Many homes struggle with paper clutter. Mine used to be one of them. I used to have a pile of papers that screamed at me every…
The word BUDGETING can stir up a whole slew of emotions (depending on who you are). Maybe the words “overwhelmed” or “impossible” come flying in, though for others, the word tugs at the very strings of your heart. The strings that love being organized and detailed. And you just can’t survive without it – literally….
It’s the phrase I say oh, too many times to count. You often hear of parents talking about how much patience it takes to parent. The sleep-less nights, the tantrums, the repeating of commands. I am sure you can think of one thing that takes a bit of patience. But have you ever thought about…
Dan and I decided we could be professional vacationers. Wouldn’t that be the life? We have always enjoyed exploring and seeing the beauty of God’s creation, so any opportunity we get, we try and jump on it. In fact, when we first moved to Minnesota, we found a little magazine that listed some fun places…
photo source Yesterday I asked what you most valued? Were you able to make a list? If so, did you find yourself listing more items than you would like? Valuing something in and of itself isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Valuing something you worked hard for, makes you appreciate the effort you put into obtaining it….
This post is sponsored by ClosetMaid. I received products in exchange for this post. The toy room. It is a space in our home that has been a source of frustration for me when it comes to organizing it. Our daughter is at the age where she still uses some of the “bigger” toys that…

Great post. I have an iPad which I love. It replaced my laptop when it died. I work at home & my job provides the work PC. I have a cell phone but don't have a smartphone. I'm tethered to my computer all day so I like being away from it when I'm out & about.
I like this! Being able to step away IS a beautiful thing!
I love having a smartphone and it would be hard to live without once you get used to it but it is a convenience not a necessity. I moved up from a tracfone a year ago but still don't have a regular data plan. I mostly rely on wifi. So much is spent on expensive plans and high end phones.
The biggest negative I see is the distraction they are when with other people. Way too easy to keep checking phones or messing with them instead of spending time together.
That is exactly how I feel – once you get one, it would be hard to go back :). I agree too, that they can be a distraction – but I realize that even with my tracfone, I can easily pick it up and text someone, when with other people. It's a reality check and it's always something to think about! Thanks for sharing!
