You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

Aldi has changed my life. Really. When we moved to Minnesota 2 years ago, I knew our grocery bill would look different. I did not realize that it would more than DOUBLE. Believe it or not, we do not budget. Well, we don’t budget in the sense of keeping a detailed record of what and…
Small town living. I love it. It brings out the country girl in me and spurs on my desires to live off the land. Then there is small HOUSE living. My husband and I bought a small(er) house in my husband’s hometown 7 years ago. It was 1,051 sq. feet. I understand that for many,…
Everything is GOD’S. Just think about that for a second! EVERYTHING. Look around your house. Outside. Inside. Your body. Every possession. Every detail. Every minute. Every talent. Even our money. EVERYTHING. It’s GOD’S. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” God has given us…
As women, many of us have this nagging and constant tapping on the shoulder, telling us we need to do more. And more. Telling us we need to go to this. Telling us we need to make that. Telling us we need to look like this. Telling us we need to commit to that. Telling…
What’s behind the curtain of your life? What is behind the makeup, the wardrobe, the house decor, this kids, and the marriage? One thing I always question: “Do my blog posts reflect the true Kristin? Our true life? Our real life?” The other day, I just had one of those days. A day when we…
It’s been a long haul, this life. There have been too many times to count when life looked fairly grim. While being wheeled back for my 2nd open heart surgery in 17 days, I vividly remember being wheeled into an elevator, asking the nurse if it was a risky surgery? It was silent long enough…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
