You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling
One of my most favorite businesses to partner with is Personal Planner. They are actually based out of Sweden, but I look forward to participating with international company each time. My own planner was about to run out, so I was eager to design this coming year’s planner! I’ve been designing one from fall to…
Don’t you just love the signs of spring? It got a little chilly last night and we had to bring the down comforter back out. I had washed and put it away for the summer because it had gotten quite warm a few weeks ago. It’s a good problem to have! One thing that has been…
Once we have more, it’s just never enough, is it? Just think about that for a second. No matter how much we have, no matter how much money we make, it is just never enough, is it? We are always wanting more. And More. And MORE. Think about your life. What have you bought,…
Over the past 4-5 years, I have done a lot of decluttering. I wouldn’t say that I was a hoarder before, but I rarely applied the rule of “one in, one out.” If I bought something new, I rarely got rid of the old. The first home we lived in did not have a…
I have thought about this idea for awhile, but haven’t quite figured out exactly how to say what I want to say, so here goes! Have you ever lived life by swerving from one guardrail to another? What I mean is that do you live life going from one extreme to another, not thinking about…
I am not a fan of fads. So this change that we are making, I do not want to just be a fad. I want it to last. I want it to influence us. I want it to change our lives for the better. So, why? First Reasons: Being in youth ministry, it is easy…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
