You May Not Have Thought Of…Silver Sharpie Labeling

We all have aspirations to make changes in our life. Especially in this new year! Some big. Some small. Now that we are at the start of a new year, you can’t ignore the bandwagon of resolution-planners. Planning change, desiring a new routine, wanting to tweak SOMETHING. I decided to start a new challenge; THOUGH, this challenge…
I find myself feeling a bit nostalgic at times. I think about the days when my sister and I would play Shannon Miller and Dominique Moceanu in the backyard, pretending to be the next Olympians. I think about the days when I spent my time lining up each and every one of my crayons just…
I do not kombucha (not even sure I spelled that right)… I do not have eyelash extensions… I do not have many “said” clothing trends… I’m not on a specific diet (wait…maybe low-salt for heart reasons)… I am definitely not what you’d call “cool” or “trendy” by any sense of the word! As Dan and…
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, and with it landing on a Sunday, I thought it would be fun to create a little Valentine’s Day activity packet for your kids to do in church or while at home if you watch a livestream! I created one for Easter when COVID first hit, and I…
So my goals. I believe this is going to be an on-going list. Some of my goals I will be talking about each day through each day’s subject, so that helps in challenging myself to progress in them. Each of these goals will take being intentional – the overall thing I want to work on…
Last night was the final night we spent in our house. We are officially moved out. We have a few more hours of work there on Monday, but it is empty. Yesterday was the first day it hit me. We have been so busy packing everything up, that I haven’t had much time to think about it…

That is awesome that you even labeled a chair – well, now you know where it is and no one can discreetly steal it! Love it and thanks for sharing!
This is genius. Thanks for the great tip! I took the advice and just silver sharpied my spices. Woot! Oh my goodness, this will save time and make it easy for everyone to see what they want. Great tip!!
Thank you! I am glad that you have been able to put this to use – it has made a HUGE difference in our home and it sounds like yours too 🙂
I really want to share how I do my spices, but it's sort of hard to explain. I'll give it a shot, and if you like the idea, I'll forward pix.
We took some trim 1/2"x2" and cut it to just under the width of a cabinet door. My sweetheart mounted them on the door with 1/2"x1/2" brackets. About an inch above the ends of each mounted piece of trim, he put a 2" metal bracket. Then we strung strong wire through the holes on the brackets, making a line between the two brackets just under an inch from the top of each piece of wood. That made a little retainer to hold the little plastic containers of spices–in alphabetical order. Make sense? I keep any extra amounts of each spice in the back of a bottom drawer, where nothing else ever goes. Works for us!
Hi Mary :). I would LOVE to see pictures of this! Even detailed pics of the basics to the finished product? I see a guest post coming soon ;)???? This sounds like a GREAT idea and a DIY project, which makes this even better! Let me know your thoughts 🙂
My Awesome Wonderful and I are traveling, and I'm just catching up with my posts. When we get back home, I'll do this very thing. Many who have seen this project have replicated it. So, yes, I'd love to help your other friends.
Awesome! Thank you Mary 🙂
