Around the Home
Last week of Christmas break and it sure did not disappoint! Though I’ll fully admit, Mazy is completely ready to go back (insert crazy face emoji). After a long quarantine, going back for a week, then being off for 2, she’s ready to get back to it. This week we had fun playing games, playing outside, just BEING outside, seeing family, and just being together. So thankful for this season! Here’s what our week looked like in pictures:
Mazy was asked to be a flower girl for our dear friend’s wedding in the fall! She is SO excited and what a fun way to ask: by making a unicorn puzzle! Needless to say, we’ve made it several times since…
Grandma’s tradition of making Christmas cookies with the grandkids…always such a fun day!
We are finally starting to see some snow here in Michigan and how beautiful it is! As Mazy said, it is a snowy miracle!
We decided to check out our town’s museum, called the Dekker Huis Museum. Completely worth it and it inspired us to do even more research on our home in hopes of eventually getting it on the historical registry! It’s definitely old enough and we look forward to learning the history we can on it.
This was Mazy’s favorite room…checking out all of the toys of the “olden days”.
My latest read has been this book by Daryl Hoole: The Art of Homemaking. It was written in 1969, so it is very interesting to read about life back then, but also how to implement what was encouraged back then, to the days of now. I’ve been very inspired and at times, can’t put it down. Who knew that a book like this could be so “fun” to read, but I found it used (clearly), and has been a favorite read thus far!
Saturday brought BEAUTIFUL weather, so sledding we went!
Dan had this GENIUS idea to take one of our pool air mattresses down the hill. We were a little skeptical and weren’t sure how well it would work, but it FLEW down that hill! All 3 of us could go down and went about as far as anyone did!
A bright, sunny day!

It’s back to school for us this week, which means back to work and back to routine, which I do enjoy! Hope you all have a wonderful week!
