Around the Home
A week filled with so many emotions and with hearts heavy, thinking about our brothers and sisters in Ukraine and Russia. ALL people created in the image of God, and we just pray that ALL respond to that gift of being made in the image of Him. So hard to understand this side of heaven, but this too, God has a sovereign plan for and that, we must trust. May our trust never waiver because surely His goodness, His ways, and His love, NEVER change.
These pictures are all a bit trivial in comparison to what is going on in our world. Though I share them as a little piece of our life and that God can work through the little details of life too.
Depending what is happening, Mazy sometimes gets to join us for youth group on Sunday nights! She is always THRILLED and is the highlight of her week. Last week, we played sardines and so one of our youth group kids helped Mazy find THE perfect hiding spot! Only a 6-year-old could cram her body into places no one else could! Needless to say, it took the kids a bit to find her! Such a gift seeing our youth group kids love Mazy so much – such a gift from God! It’s the little details.
Michigan sure offers it’s random weather events – from winter storm to rainy days within hours! Again, the little details of God’s sovereignty.
The slop made for some muddy feet and paws, but it sure didn’t stop these two from playing soccer. God’s little details – the friendship between a child and a dog:
This sweet girl came down with a case of influenza (we assume, she had every symptom), and so snuggles this week were aplenty, since mama wasn’t feeling great either:
This past weekend we had our youth group fundraiser dinner and what a FUN night! So thankful for the hard work of our youth group kids, parents, and the church who came out and supported the youth group. God has blessed us so richly with such a supportive and loving church!
And as always, Dan did a GREAT job hosting the game for the evening: “The Match It Game”:
I think of Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” May we not let devil make us think that God has lost any control! Even though we don’t understand, may we still submit to the ULTIMATE authority!
