Around The Home
This past week was an exciting week! We celebrated Mazy’s 3rd birthday this week, the March Madness has begun, visited the Critter Barn, and finished up some projects around the house. We are getting the spring itch, so we find ourselves outside more and more (even when it’s still in the 30s), going outside, visiting parks, and just excited for warm weather. Don’t all northerners get that itch? So much to look forward to in March!
Last Sunday afternoon, it was a SUNNY afternoon, and despite it being a tad chilly, we visited the “big” park as Mazy calls it because it has “bigger” toys. So fun to see her enthusiasm over parks!
Mazy still enjoys putting on concerts for anyone who will listen…even an armadillo!
On Wednesday, a rather chilly, but sunny day, we made our first visit of the year to the Critter Barn! Mazy LOVES that place, especially since she can interact with some of the animals, like the cats, bunnies, chicks, and pygmy goats. The cats even let her shake their paws!
After we came back home, Mazy had to line up all her doggie stuffed animals and use mommy’s camera to take pictures of them.
Love seeing cardinals from the kitchen window!
Mazy woke up HARD from one nap this week (she woke up too early is what happened…) and so that meant long snuggles after! I’m sure not complaining! I’ll take these moments when I can!
One of my guilty pleasures is mixing heavy whipping cream and a box of chocolate pudding together for a minute or two…it is SO GOOD! Mazy asked if she could lick the beater – I’m thinking she enjoyed it too :).
Welcome to March Madness at the Sterk household! Since we’ve been married, I’ve had a school-sized chalkboard hanging in our home, but it did not make the move with us back to Michigan. I always put up the brackets on that large chalkboard, but this year just the paper brackets have had to do.
I’m all for the Michigan vs. MSU final game!
And then when it comes to bedtime, Mazy had no problem watching Peppa Pig on “her” TV (even though we’ve never used this TV until now…)
Another birthday post is coming, but in the meantime, here’s a glimpse at Mazy’s birthday weekend! First of all, just for the record, Mazy doesn’t have a lick of Irish in her, even though she was born on St. Patrick’s Day. On Friday, it was a beautiful afternoon, so we decided to give Mazy her birthday present early. Dan and I are HORRIBLE about waiting to give gifts, so when Mazy mentioned she wanted a bike, well sweetier, your wish was our command!
A new bell and Skye helmet topped it all off! In fact, when Mazy told us she wanted a bike for her birthday, she specifically said she wanted a bell. Again, sweet girl, your wish was our command!
On Saturday night, we have our families over to celebrate.
We are still in awe that Mazy is in our lives. We are honored to be her parents and could not be more thankful for the little girl she is becoming. Her sweet personality is contagious, her zest for life energizing, and her politeness, refreshing. So thankful to celebrate the miracle she is!
This week is my LAST week of rehab! I hope to continue making progress and maybe even jog a bit more?! If not, that’s okay. Any step forward is a step forward. I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for cardiac rehab! It has been challenging, endurance building, and incredibly encouraging. Not that I ever want to have to go back, but if I do, I will hands down, go willingly. I see the progress it has helped me make, the mental confidence it has given me, and the relationships built, are things I will always take with me. Much to be thankful for!
