Baby Afghan
Amidst all the craziness, I have managed to crochet this baby afghan! My friend Tracie and I decided to crochet them (she crocheted a pink one) for our two friends who are having babies (actually, one of them had their baby 7 weeks early, but is doing well!). If you crochet, here is the pattern. I had so much fun making it! I LOVE the ribbon that goes around it with the bow at the end! I decided to have a little fun with the finished product by taking all these pictures :).
I did not make it to the actual baby shower, which was SUCH a hard decision! I love to throw showers, so back in early September, I was so excited to be involved in it. I had asked two friends to help – well, our first planning meeting was Tuesday, September 18 – the day we found out our babies were no where to be seen in Brenda’s womb. I emailed the girls and told them I just didn’t think I could meet and plan a baby shower, which they completely understood. As time had gone on, I thought I was going to be okay with attending the shower, but over the past few days, I started to cry more and more about it. I knew at that point I was just not ready to attend a baby shower. The two girls who the shower was for, were so understanding – I told them that it had NOTHING to do with them, but had everything to do with my emotions. Also, my two friends graciously took care of all the little details. Again, little triggers that get my tear ducts going. Healing takes time, and that was made very evident to me with this situation.
Crocheting though has become something I am learning a lot about and am LOVING to do!
Yep – I can feel for you with having all these different emotions. I remember many years I would have to leave the church service on Mother's Day, and usually in tears! I finally quit going to church on Mother's Day! And showers were also very hard to attend….. so I am feeling for you!!! Sending prayers and hugs your way!!!
