Mazy Is 10 Months Old!

I can’t help but share all of these pics of sweet Mazy! From her rosy cheeks, to her chubby cheeks, to that little front tooth popping through, those big blue eyes, we just can’t get enough of her!

Don’t let this picture fool you – she does NOT crawl! She likes to think she wants to, but once she gets in the crawling position, she just cries!

Stats: Not sure. We will find out at her 1 year appointment.

Food: Mazy still eats about every 3-4 hours and drinks about 5-6 ounces each time. We are working on her eating when we eat, so that when she is ready for more table food, she can just sit and eat with us. She can now eat Gerber puffs! Before, she would choke on them, but now she is learning to chew them. She also eats bits of other pieces of food, like waffles and cottage cheese. It is so much fun to watch her learn to eat!

Size: Mazy wears mainly 12 month clothes, but some 9 month still. She also wears 9 month onesies, 12 month sleepers, and some 18 month pants for length. She wears size 3 diapers during the day and size 4 at night.

Routine: Mazy typically wakes up somewhere between 8:00 and 9:00am, depending on what time she goes to bed. She typically goes to bed between 8:00 and 8:30, which means she gets a FULL night of sleep! Also, this past week she slept through the night 3 times! We barely knew what to do, since it had been months! We think she had been teething, but her front side tooth finally popped through. She might be starting on another one because she has very rosy cheeks, but we’ll see.

After she wakes up in the morning, we feed her a bottle, play for a bit, then after about 2-3 hours, she is ready for her morning nap. She has been wanting to go to bed later for that nap, which is part of her just growing up! She usually sleeps about 1 1/2 hours, then it’s feed time again. By about 1:30 or 2:00 she is ready for another nap, where she will sleep about another hour or 2. When she gets up, another bottle and more play time. Between 4:30 and 5:30, she is often ready for 1 more nap, but doesn’t always want to sleep, so sometimes we do without it. At night, we give her cereal at 7:00 (though we are trying to move it to 6:00 now), a bath if needed, a bottle at 8:00, and then bedtime.

Milestones:

Can now pick up food with her fingers, like puffs, put them in her mouth, and chew them
Mazy loves to stand on her own, leaning up against something
She loves to walk, holding onto your fingers and the grip on our fingers is loosening
She slept through the night 3 nights this past week
Still has no desire to crawl
Naps pretty well now and puts herself to sleep if she is tired enough
Mazy points at EVERYTHING and talks to EVERYTHING
If you say “yay” she sill clap her hands
Turning pages in a book is one of her favorite activities
She loves to jabber and talk to her toys
Da-da, ma-ma, and na-na are her favorite words
Mazy still loves the walker at church
If you say “SO big” she will raise her hands above her head!
She also knows what “big hug” means and will wrap her arms around your neck and hug you!
Has 3 teeth now
Can now push the buttons on her Violet toy

Other Things To Remember:

Mazy still loves books – she knows where the touch ‘n feel parts of a book are and is so proud that she knows too
Still does not like her diaper changed – have to give her something to play with
Loves baths
Loves to ride in the shopping cart and smile at everyone
Likes to play catch – she will kick or throw the ball back
Will hug any stuffed animal
Still loves dogs – whether stuffed or real
Doesn’t like to be alone
Likes to watch Daniel the Tiger’s Neighborhood
Enjoys playing with her new sit to stand toy and bristle blocks
