Organizing Your Office & Paperwork
Back to organizing!
Now the office and paperwork. (Maybe your papers never make it to the office or area that you do your “office work.” Maybe they are still stuck in that ever-growing pile!)
Do you ever get sick of all that junk mail? Do you throw stuff in a pile and think “I’ll deal with it later?” Then that later never comes? Well, here are a few tips as to how to deal with
Mail.
- Make sure you only touch your mail once – what I mean is that either you file it or take care of it.
- If it’s a bill, put it in your filing system, pay it right then and there, or put it in your planner.
- JUST TAKE CARE OF IT! Don’t start a pile
Junk mail – call the companies and be asked to be taken off of their mailing list! It is worth the 1 minute it will take to get taken off their mailing list!
What does your filing system look like? This is where it would be a good idea to start a BINDER! These are sheets that I use to organize my “stuff” and here is the form I use for bill-paying.
Papers:
- How many pieces of papers do you keep when you can locate that information online?
- Do you need it for taxes?
- Coupons?
- Receipts?
- People’s contact info?
- The gist: Do you really need to keep this piece of paper?
Simple steps, that make a world of difference! Papers tend to fly everywhere! Just don’t let them fly around your house – keep them contained and organized so that you don’t spend minute upon minute touching the same piece of paper, when you could really just touch it once!
Hope your office and paperwork are a little more organized!
