You Are Who You Turn To
Who do you spend the most time with? What do you spend most of your time doing? However you may answer these questions, determines who you are becoming. The choices we make about who we are hanging out with, what we do with our lives, and who we follow, dictates our life and where we are going. Whose voice are you listening to? Who are you turning to?
It’s no surprise to you when I say we are surrounded by so many voices. Some we choose to listen to and others we let fall by the wayside. Sometimes the most influential voices are of those we want to be become like. Think social media. Whose profile do you look at most? Where is your time focused? Who do you look to for approval? Who are you trying to be like?
The Bible says in Isaiah that no matter which way we are going, that we WILL hear a voice telling us which direction to go and it’s our job to walk according to it. God is constantly speaking to us. That also means when we hear this voice telling us to go a different direction, that we must be willing to listen to it. Because we are who we turn to.
When you wake up in the morning, who do you turn to? When difficulties happen, who do you turn to? When you’re looking for approval or to fit in, who do you turn to? When you need an earthly friend, who do you turn to?
Be that someone who points those around you to Christ. Be that person who hears the voice of God and turns to it. Because who we listen to, is who we become – and every day we should be striving to look more like Christ.
I love this! It’s a really good reminder. Thank you for your godly example, Kristin. ❤️🙏
