This past weekend we had the chance to explore a little bit more of Minnesota up north! It was a very short weekend, but well worth it! Some friends of ours invited us up to a lake cabin where we spent quality time getting to know each other. It was a blessed weekend even though it felt like fall!
It was rather cold this past weekend – on Saturday it was QUITE windy and chilly, but thankfully we had many layers to put on and fleece pants were a must.
Dan’s bass…I had caught some type of fish (musky are popular on Mantrap Lake where we went fishing), but it bit the lure right off – a clean break! Who knows what it was!
Mantrap was one of the most beautiful lakes – tall pines, wildlife everywhere, and just the pure natural-ness (probably made up that word) of creation.
The sounds of loons were all around us – one of the most beautiful sounds!
Wildlife is not an oddity out there!
While up there, we went to the Mississippi River Headwaters! Hard to imagine that it starts on this little lake, but it was awesome to be at the beginning of what becomes a massive river!
Where the Mississippi River begins…Lake Itasca
Where we went to church Sunday morning – the podium was on wheels and everything was just so simple. Beautiful morning to be worshiping God in His “house” (creation)
It was a relaxing, yet fun-filled weekend. WAY too short, but isn’t that always the case? Thankful for the people God continues to put in our lives!
