Around The Home
I think we have experienced the extremes in weather this past week! Snow and then the warm sun, but we love it! Make the most of it, right? Okay, not going to lie, it’s nice to be able to not bundle up to go outside though. I will say that. This past week we capitalized on the GORGEOUS weather at the end of the week and started to paint our house! We’ve had the paint for about a month, but the weather hasn’t exactly been painting weather, but this past week it has been! Here’s a glimpse into our week:
Taking a COLD walk with Mazy on Tuesday. Mazy at one point, turned around and said, “Mommy, cheeks are red!” She was right, they were, even though she couldn’t see them!
Craziest sighting of the week – a turkey in between our house and the neighbors! Not every day that you see that in town!
I was thinking it was getting to be nap time! Mazy always watches a show for a little bit before going down and she decided it was time to lay down already!
Mazy is VERY into crafts! Her newest idea has been to paint rocks. So simple, cheap, and creative craft! That’s also a face of serious concentration.
Her other “craft” has been drawing tattoos. I often get roped into it, but hey, simple and easy fun! I realized I do easily forget to wash them off before going places…
And this has kept us busy!! Spraying and treating our house in preparation to paint it!
Getting a little auntie snuggle time in with my niece Ava:
And the painting begins! It will take us awhile, but we are loving the color and it will drastically change the look of our house! From a light yellow to a dark blue. It was unintentional, but blue and yellow sure are great colors if you are a Michigan fan that is! Having to move a ladder around sure does take awhile when painting, but we want to do it well so that we hopefully don’t have to do it again, any time soon.
A good friend of ours spent his Saturday helping us paint…what a huge help it was! And Mazy of course kept us all entertained!
One of my biggest fears: heights! And here I am, high up on a ladder. Doing whatchya gotta do! I was told to sing a song going up the ladder to get my mind off of it, and to tell you the truth, it worked!
I am so thankful that God gives us a day of rest for multiple reasons. My body and mind sure need a break after two big days of painting, and to be able to rest on the Sabbath, I can refocus my mind for the upcoming week. How amazing it is, that God looks out for us, even before we feel we need to be looked out for. Make sense? So thankful for day of rest and the joy of being able to join together with other believers to worship our King!
